A Summer to Remember--California

Tyler was scheduled to go to Carlsbad, CA for a week for work, so we jumped in with him and made it a family vacation! The kids and I swam everyday in the hotel pool while he was working. Emma is a great swimmer now and Jacob did great holding on to the edge if he couldn't touch the bottom (the deepest part of the pool was only 5 feet) so it was nice since Levi feel asleep each day at the pool and I ended out sitting on the lawn chair holding him! We had all kinds of R and R!

And, I loved all the flowers that grew wild everywhere!

When Tyler got home at 4:00 each day we would go somewhere fun and out to eat dinner. The kids loved the beach! Jacob went wild running in the sand and yelling and clapping. He was so excited it was funny! Emma was more cautious (of course!) but she loved the feel of the sand washing out from under her feet. Levi wasn't too sure about the whole thing but he did like playing with the seaweed!

On the weekend we took the kids to Legoland. It was a great time! I was amazed at the Lego creations and the kids loved all the little rides! What a fun place!

Fun! You were probably so close to where we live now. Do you have any favorite places to go or eat in the Carlsbad area? Just got here and don't know where to start!
